Get fit now

Getting fit and having a personal training program that is uniquely accustomed for you is probably one of the hardest accomplishments, not to mention getting started training in the first place.

Getting started is also a big leap and once taken you will feel a comfort in yourself.  I remember starting back myself, the first day I was ready to start I remember watching an Arnold video and don’t get me wrong fitness doesn’t have to be about muscles the size of Cancun, but that was my motivation in starting my journey to get fit.

Anyone will tell you off the start that fitness training is not easy. I would love to tell you that it is! In order to get the fitness look you are looking for, you will have to have a reality check with yourself. This should be done on day 1 without a doubt.

There are 2 things you must follow in order to succeed in getting the body you wish for.  Yes I know only 2!!

The first one is Nutrition. Ok people if you are serious in getting any results effectively watch what you eat and drink. Yes it sucks, suck it up. I mean from not drinking coca cola, beers with the boys or girls. Eating is a big watch out as well. No McDonald’s, mayonnaise, etc.  I will not go into details of what not to drink and eat because that will take another article all together. Use your brain and you will be ok.

The second one is serious workouts. Now I have always seen people at the gym talking for 1 hour and training for 1 hour. I am not saying to stare at the wall and train but common, you get it. After your first week or so of exercise, every repetition of every exercise must be done to its fullest. To keep this simple, the harder you work the better results you will gain period.

Stay motivated and do not listen to anyone putting you down. A change in your routine is always a good choice after 2 weeks or so just to change things up. There are plenty of websites out there informing of new personal training programs that will keep you at the gym forever. Keep these simple rules and not only will you get the body you have always dreamed for but you will feel energetic and enjoy life the way it should be.

Fitness instructor secrets

Inside numerous sports activities the Most Valuable Player, or MVP, award is one of the most sought after. MVPs produce large plays or large numbers-so selecting applicants for the award is not way too challenging. It might not be as easy to discover the MVPs amongst your own health and fitness trainers. First, there are no winners or losers on your team; ideally, they’re all trying to do the same thing. So figuring out who’s contributing the most is tough. You’d need to watch team members over a season or a series and monitor their “stats.” As the manager, you’re lucky if you see your instructors once a week, and there’s probably no way to monitor every action. If you try to boil the contribution down to numbers, you might create a team focused less on winning and more on trying to impress you with their individually packed classes. Quite the predicament!

It’s time to change the scorecard and think more broadly about what you value in employees. An MVP needs to be more than simply the best instructor. MVPs must contribute to the department, the facility and the organization--not just to the participants in their own classes. Your vision of an MVP shapes your team’s culture and, subsequently, your program. Define what you believe are MVP qualities, hire instructors who showcase MVP-like attributes, and cultivate these qualities in your employees. Then hang on to those who achieve MVP status.

What to Look For

Keep this checklist handy when scouting, interviewing, auditioning and hiring.

Talented, yet teachable. All managers want talented instructors who can step into a room and rock the regulars. But at some point, you’ll introduce new formats or you’ll need help with new programs. If your most talented instructors have no interest in learning, you’ll be up a creek! MVPs know how to teach, and they also understand how to be students. Continuing education is important not just for the sake of a successful program, but also to help keep the “empathy gene” on high alert so that a wide variety of participants are taken care of.
Confident, yet humble. Obviously, someone who can command a crowd and take charge of a room is an MVP. However, a confident instructor can sometimes turn into your LVP (least valuable player). While instructors need to be confident, they also need to be humble and respect their managers, co-workers and class participants. Every person in the studio made a choice to show up at that particular time, thus providing a platform for instructors to do what they love. Isn’t this a humbling thought? Shouldn’t we show gratitude for the people who provide us an opportunity to live out our dream? Also look for instructors who are thankful for the work you do and are respectful of your time and energy.
Creative, yet compliant. You want teachers who think outside the box. At the same time, you don’t want them to be so creative that the rules fly out the window. Whether teaching is a hobby for your instructors or their full-time career, you have a department to run. Each instructor must understand the need to stay engaged and to comply with policies and procedures. Reward creative solutions, but also reward adherence.
A leader, yet a follower. Instructors are leaders. Hire and incentivize instructors to take on this expanded role and to teach for more than the ego stroke. Remind them that people look to them for motivation, education and information, in addition to a great class. Find ways to enhance their leadership skills. At the same time, they need to be able to follow: They need to appreciate who’s driving the bus (you), and they need to be willing to sit in their assigned seats while loving-or at least appreciating-every minute of the journey.

Personal training programs

Personal training programs is a personal site of mine just explaining of what personal training programs have worked for me. Hopefully this will be a two way experience as I hope you learn from me as I would like to learn from your personal experiences as well.

Just like allot of people I have been training on and off for a while. I have decided this new year to start my own personal training programs guide in hopefully helping others with my personal experience and in the meanwhile get some information back.

I am by no means a professional fitness instructor but I do have 6 years fitness training experience and would like to share some of my experiences with whoever is interested.

These experiences include what exercises are killer and really give you a workout in half the time of a regular 4 set routine training program. Sharing these workouts and alternating your exercise routine will have a massive effect on your training. Routine is very bad when it comes down to training and gets boring fairly quickly.

I will be beginning from scratch giving people the chance to start from 0 and slowly move up to killer exercises and have the ability to create his and  her very own personal training programs.
